Difference between Hindi and Urdu

Both have same grammatical rules, same to be form, same wh question format etc. But nouns are different.

In Urdu, most of the words are derived from Persian. No words can be seen which are derived from Sanskrit. Although Persian and Sanskrit both derived from a same ancient language. Writting system is nāstāliq script.

Hindi has two different forms: kovid and vinit. vinit is also known as Urdu. In kovid, most of the words are derived from Sanskrit. It also known as shuddh Hindi. Writting system is devanāgari script.

One thing can be notice that most of the people cannot speak full kovid. They mix-up some words from vinit also. So in normal Hindi you can listen the mixture of shuddh Hindi and Urdu.

But most of the Bollywood songs are in fully Urdu.

For example,

āp ki khidmat me yeh tohfa hazir hai. (Urdu)

āp ki seva me yeh upahār upasthit hai. (shuddh Hindi (kovid))

mix of above. (Hindi)
